DAY Studio is multidisciplinary design and consultancy office

DAY Studio is multidisciplinary design and consultancy office founded by Yeşim Eröktem and Doğanberk Demir in 2015 following their masters degree at ECAL. The studio works on various of tasks from furniture and lighting to textile design, table-top accessories to industrial products and packaging design. They fuse their cultural background with a contemporary approach to create simple and functional objects. Yesim is also a lecturer at Bilgi University and Doganberk is the design director of Gaia&Gino.

DAY works with local and international companies such as Habitat, Frette, Flormar and Chivas apart from their own collection Avlu a collection focused on local manufacturing techniques, taking advantage of İstanbul’s rich crafts culture. Their work has been exhibited at Wallpaper* Handmade, Salone del Mobile, Downtown Design Dubai, London Design Festival and Istanbul Design Week, featured at Wallpaper*, SightUnseen, Vogue, Architectural Digest and Elle Decoration magazines and awarded Edida and Wallpaper* Design Awards.

 

About GAIA&GINO:

I’ve always had an admiration for Gaia&Gino for opening a ground for Turkish design. Working with Gaye Cevikel on her new venture both in Portugal and Istanbul, fusing oriental and western elements into a design piece was a great experience.
